I am 54 years old. I had always hated running and only ran in P.E. And four years in the Navy because someone made me. Three years ago I had Weight loss surgery and I’ve lost 40% of my highest bodyweight so far. I have always liked the idea of triathlon because I could bike and swim. I wanted to get more active to help lose weight. I wanted to sign up for the swim portion of a sprint triathlon. I had someone to do the bike leg but couldn’t find someone to do the run. So I said what the hell and started a couch to 5K program. I ran my 1st 5K a few weeks before my 1st sprint The next year I did another sprint along with a 1/2 marathon and a marathon. I did 2 sprints at my first Olympic this year. I have a marathon in January and I'm not sure when I will be ready for a 1/2 Iron Man, but I am working on it.
