Why AJ Baucco Coaching?I began my triathlon journey in the summer of 1999. During that summer I raced 5 triathlons and fell in love with the sport; however, it wasn’t until 2014 when I joined the AJ Baucco coaching family and my triathlon journey took off. Over the years I have gained a solid foundation of the principles used by AJB coaching, along with the opportunity of learning from numerous different coaches. I am always prepared for each race in regard to preparation, execution, and nutrition. AJB coaching doesn’t miss a beat! Moving into coaching was a natural progression for me. Over the past 2 years I have been coaching all level athletes. Coaching to me is as much of an art as a science, and to be successful you must incorporate both. Metrics such as heart rate training and power all hold their place in a solid training program but it must work in conjunction with how the athlete is feeling on a mental, physical and emotional level. In my eyes, developing a strong athlete/coach relationship is essential to reach this balance. I work full time as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker where I have the experience of working with others and have gained an understanding of the inner workings of human behavior. I understand how different thoughts and belief systems can drive behavior. I aim to help athletes work on the mental side as much as the physical by helping them to identify how certain thinking styles could be potential barriers or to their success. I am currently working toward my Masters in Sport and Performance Psychology and certification as a Mental Performance Consultant.
